  Plaza del Ayuntamiento is among the most important monuments of Valencia and is considered the nerve center of the city. It was built over the gardens of an old convent and the last major change to the square was made by the architect Javier Goerlich, between 1931 and 1934, to eliminate an underground market, neo-baroque for the sale of flowers. Today there are flower shops in the square.

  We were her Christmas day and it was really nice. Lots of lights... The roads were blocked off and quite a few people. It was my first time there and it was really a cool place to be.... We sat down towards the end and enjoyed watch the people walk by and hot coffee!
